Konačište
Safety & Trust

How we keep Konačište trustworthy

What we check on our side, what stays your responsibility, and what to do when something goes wrong.

On our side

What we do before and around a booking

These are the checks and safeguards that are actually built into the platform today.

Listings are reviewed before publishing

A new listing is not visible in search until our team has looked at it. If a published listing turns out to be inaccurate or breaks our terms, we can suspend it.

Contact details stay private until accepted

A host does not see your email or phone number while your request is pending, and you do not see theirs. Contact details are exchanged only once the booking is accepted.

Reports are reviewed by a person

Anything you report about a listing is triaged by our team, who can remove or suspend the listing and follow up with the host.

Bookings leave a record

Requests, acceptances, cancellations and messages are recorded against the booking and confirmed by email, so there is a written trail if a disagreement comes up later.

Being straight with you

What Konačište is — and is not

We would rather you know the limits up front than assume protections that do not exist.

What we do

  • Review every listing before it is published
  • Give you a message thread and a written record for each booking
  • Keep contact details private until a booking is accepted
  • Investigate reports and suspend listings when needed
  • Show the host's full price, house rules and cancellation terms before you request

What we do not do

  • Process payments or hold your money — you pay the host directly
  • Provide insurance, damage cover or a payment guarantee
  • Verify the identity of every host or guest with official documents
  • Inspect properties in person
  • Act as a party to the agreement between guest and host
Practical advice

Staying safe on both sides of a booking

Because payment and arrival are arranged between you and the other party, a few habits go a long way.

For guests

  • Keep the conversation in writing. Use the booking message thread so what you agreed is recorded. If you move to phone or another app, follow up with a written summary.

  • Read the house rules and cancellation policy. Check-in and check-out times, whether pets, parties, smoking or children are allowed, and the refund terms are all on the listing before you request.

  • Confirm the exact address before you travel. Get the full address and directions from the host once the booking is accepted, and make sure someone knows where you are staying.

  • Be careful how you pay. Agree the amount, method and timing in writing first. Be wary of anyone pushing for a large deposit through irreversible channels, or asking you to pay someone other than your host.

  • Keep your receipts. Save booking confirmation emails, messages and any payment proof at least until the stay is over and any deposit is returned.

For hosts

  • Describe the place honestly. Photos and details that match reality prevent most disputes. Listings that misrepresent a property can be suspended.

  • Ask before you accept. Use the message thread to ask about the purpose of the stay and the number of guests. You are free to decline a request you are not comfortable with.

  • Put your rules in the listing. Quiet hours, maximum guests, events, smoking and pets belong in your house rules, not in a conversation after arrival.

  • Agree any deposit in advance. If you take a security deposit, state the amount and the return conditions in writing before the guest travels.

  • Arrange your own cover. Konačište does not provide damage or liability insurance. Check your own policy and local rules on registering guests and paying tourist tax.

Report a listing or a problem

If a listing looks fraudulent, a property is not as described, or someone behaves inappropriately, tell us and we will look into it.

  • The link to the listing, or the booking dates
  • What happened, with screenshots or messages if you have them
  • When it happened and whether you are still at the property
